Acme Cabinets On Tour Look for Jon Evans
on tour with Tori Amos and his Acme Low B-4 box. I was told that he showed up
on the 'Tonight Show' with it, but I didn't see the show. We were happy to see Low B-4 speaker was shown for the first
time (to my knowledge) on national TV last year, in the hands of
Mark Browne,
playing with top ten artist Paula Cole. Sort of a milestone, I suppose. He was
nice enough to invite my family and me to the 'Lilith Fair' show in Winter
Park, Colorado, where two of the six bassists that day were playing Acme
Boxes. The other Acme bassist was Aaron Sampson,
with Leah Andreone. Mark is currently touring with his Acme speaker and Melissa Etheridge.
At this time, due to the introduction of the new models, waiting times are between 1-3 weeks, depending on model.
This is the period to elapse between the time your order is received, and when it is shipped.
We usually ship on Tuesday and Friday. Personal checks require a clearing period of two weeks. Before late 1996, when Scott Malandrone's profile, in "Bass Player" magazine was published, the Acme mailing list was short. Worse, there wasn't much to put in an envelope anyway! So, in order to generate any interest on a tight budget, I attempted to convey what we were doing by writing a series of "Acme Chronicles." In retrospect, I think this, along with my published articles in "Speaker Builder," helped get Mr Malandrone's attention, and piqued his interest enough to garner the review itself. For sentimental reasons, I have reproduced them here. You might find them amusing. |
